Sometimes you just want to drop into the wasteland, gather some materials, and hunt down Rusties without your entire friends list pinging you for party invites. We all have those days where a completely solo run sounds perfect. But if you have spent any time digging through the social settings in Arc Raiders looking for a simple "Appear Offline" toggle, you already know the frustrating truth: it isn't there.

Because the game runs directly on Embark Studios' own backend servers, your in-game status defaults to online the second you connect. The game doesn't have a native built-in button to mask your presence from the inner social menu. That said, if you want some peace and quiet, there are a few platform-specific workarounds and menu tweaks you can use to successfully fly under the radar.

Platform-Specific Workarounds

To restrict your visibility, your best bet is to change your online status through your platform's dashboard before you actually launch the game. While it won't perfectly hide you inside Embark's internal system if someone is actively hunting for your specific ID, it will stop the standard platform notifications from tipping people off.

• PC (Steam): Open your Steam friends list, click the small drop-down arrow right next to your profile picture, and select "Invisible" or "Offline". Keep in mind that if a friend has added you directly using your external Embark ID, they might still catch a glimpse of your activity in-game, but this will stop you from lighting up on Steam.

• Xbox Series X/S: Hit the Xbox button on your controller to pull up the guide, move over to "My Profile", and open the sign-in status drop-down menu. From there, change your status to "Appear Offline" before booting up the game.

• PlayStation 5: From the PS5 home screen, navigate to your profile icon in the top right corner. Select "Online Status" from the options and switch it to "Appear Offline".

Managing Solo Matchmaking

If you are less worried about people knowing you are awake and more worried about dodging constant lobby invites while trying to queue up, you can manage your boundaries straight from the main menu.

First, don't feel guilty about letting pop-ups slide by. You can matchmake entirely as a solo player directly from the main menu, ignoring incoming lobby invites without blocking anyone. You can jump straight into the matchmaking queue alone and run your operations completely on your own terms.

Another helpful trick is to disable crossplay in the settings menu. While turning off crossplay won't magically flip your social status to offline, it does significantly shrink your immediate player pool. More importantly, it stops your cross-platform friends from dynamically spotting you in cross-play rosters, giving you an extra layer of privacy while you go about your business.

Until Embark Studios adds a dedicated privacy toggle inside the game's actual social menu, combining your platform's stealth settings with a disabled crossplay toggle is the cleanest way to enjoy some uninterrupted solo raiding.
