The State-level 'Local Self-Governance Day' was observed at the OUAT Krushi Shiksha Sadan in Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi instructed all government officials and employees to listen to public grievances and resolve them promptly, utilizing online methods if necessary, emphasizing that serving the people is paramount. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced a special package worth ₹560 crore for the 28 newly formed Notified Area Councils (NACs) in the state. Each NAC will receive ₹20 crore. These funds will be utilized for the development of infrastructure in the respective areas, including new NAC office buildings, roads, drains, markets, and other facilities. Chief Minister Shri Majhi has inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 593 projects worth ₹323 crore across 62 urban areas under the ‘Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme’. Of these, 423 projects worth ₹102 crore were inaugurated, and foundation stones were laid for 170 projects worth ₹221 crore. OSWAN video conferencing facilities have been provided to 115 urban areas in the state to enable connectivity via video conferencing, a facility the Chief Minister has formally launched. He also launched the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Bandhu’ and the ‘Odisha Yatri SOS’ app, the latter aimed at passenger safety. MoUs have been signed between the Odisha Urban Academy and Sri Sri University, the Indian School of Business, and the National Institute of Urban Affairs to enhance the capacity of urban local bodies. An MoU has also been signed between Sri Sri University and CRUT to improve the 'Mo Bus' service.
