Diablo 4 Infernal Hordes Gold Testing Tips From U4GM

In Diablo 4, measure Infernal Hordes gold per minute against Helltide on the same class and difficulty before choosing a Season 16 route. Third-party D4 Gold offers a separate option, but it cannot tell you which activity earns more during your own runs.

Measure a full Hordes run

The supplied PTR schedule puts the closing time at around 10:00 a.m. Pacific on November 3, 2026. Use the remaining time for one complete wave set at the difficulty you normally play, then record the class and difficulty alongside the result.

Note your gold before entering and after finishing, and divide the difference by the minutes spent on the run. Include the full wave set rather than timing only the fastest stretch. Record deaths, wave clear time, and any adjusted events that forced a reset.

Run a normal Helltide loop on the same class and calculate its gold per minute the same way. A faster Hordes clear does not automatically mean a better gold route; compare the recorded totals against the time spent, not against another player's claim.

Finish with a one-line decision: primary gold route, secondary route, or below Helltide. Add the consumables and defensive layers that kept the run stable, and flag any skill or item that only felt necessary because of PTR tuning.

Compare Pit runs without losing the build

Clear two Pit tiers around your current live push range, then attempt one tier above it. Record boss phase length, troublesome affixes, and the time spent on each attempt so you can judge the reward pace against Hordes.

If the same affix combination defeats the build twice, write down the affix names and the defensive gap. Note a possible gear or skill substitution rather than treating both failures as random lag. Keep failed attempts in the time record instead of comparing only clean clears.

Open the skill and Paragon screens for a clean clear and take screenshots of the setup. Save those images outside the game client, then confirm that the files open and show the relevant layouts. PTR characters, boards, and stash arrangements do not transfer to live play.

Keep a short note about unique items that felt mandatory. Do not spend the final session on crafting experiments unless they produce a clear keep-or-drop decision for the live season.

Move back to live play

Keep PTR observations separate from live event tasks. The supplied schedule says March of the Goblins and Meat or Treat continue into early November, so avoid giving up live progress for extra PTR activities that will not improve your notes.

Skip PTR trading experiments: test prices reset and do not establish what live prices will be after launch. Cosmetic browsing and alt leveling also compete with the limited time available for measured runs and saved builds.

After the PTR closes, return to live events and revisit the Hordes and Pit verdicts when the Season 16 patch details arrive. Before you buy Diablo 4 materials, compare your saved build notes with the live changes and decide which resources you actually need.
