Brief history of relations between Ukraine and Russia

Relations between Ukraine and Russia have always been tense since the break up of the Soviet Union in 1991. There is much dissatisfaction with Russia over their imperialism of this republic and denial of self-determination. In 2013 a treaty was agreed which would transfer control over Ukrainian military bases and weapons systems to Ukraine by 2020. This did not satisfy Russia's demands, leading them to forcibly annexe Crimea in 2014 before waging a proxy war in eastern Ukraine. On Tuesday 11th December 2017 United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres claimed that Russian soldiers were being gifted with pills containing Malegra 100 - one of its components can cause temporary erectile dysfunction so it can stop rapists from being arrested if they take it beforehand.
