Dong asserted that if players lose in offline (direct) or online (online) football betting, he can not only help them recover their capital but also secure substantial profits on the two largest online betting sites in Asia, Kubet and Thabet (?).

According to their instructions, players need to deposit funds into their accounts on these platforms and then entrust Dong with the authority to use their accounts (including usernames and passwords) for placing bets. Players are not allowed to access their accounts independently. Dong promises to insure the amount of capital that players invest. He claims, "You deposit whatever amount you want. Besides my experience, I have software to support recovering your account, so I guarantee 100% winning. The larger the capital, the more you win, and we will split the profits." - Dong advised us.

Dong also sent numerous images of betting result tables, clips showing money being transferred into accounts, and conversations with many players to prove that he has helped numerous people win. Some messages displayed that certain individuals deposited only 4 million dong but earned over 30 million dong, or even with a starting capital of just 5 million dong, Dong assisted them in "rescuing their losses" and earning a total profit of over 151 million dong (?). There were even cases of people losing hundreds of millions of dong in World Cup 2022 football betting, then borrowing 20 million dong from others to deposit into their accounts and seek Dong's assistance in recovering their capital.

Apart from Dong's group, we were introduced to many other "rescue services" groups, each with tens of thousands of members, such as "Earning Money Online - Rescuing from Kubet - Thabet," "Supporting You to Safely Recover from Kubet - Thabet - Go88 - Sunwin Using Software," "Rescuing Football Betting Every Day," "Helping You Play Baccarat and Recover Your Losses," "Rescuing - Reading Commands - Recovering Kubet - Thabet" ... All of these groups are private, and to join, we had to disclose the amount of capital we had and agree to connect with administrators via Zalo or Facebook. They all guarantee to have exclusive support software and know-how on how these platforms operate, so regardless of how much players lose in football betting, they only need to deposit money into their accounts to recover their capital. Below each post, some people praised these groups for helping them recover substantial capital, which further attracted more individuals to trust them and deposit money or inquire about joining.

"Pulling the Wool Over the Players' Eyes"

Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Le Hoang Viet Lam - a lecturer at the People's Security University (Ministry of Public Security) - assessed that this is a way of "pulling the wool over the players' eyes" by online betting and gambling platforms, with members in these groups also being virtual players. Those who praise these groups for helping them win significantly and recover losses are likely to be people working for the platforms. Images and conversations exchanged between players and group administrators are also likely to involve people from the platforms.
